Advisor Background
Heather E. Alleman was born and raised in the New Orleans, LA area. She realized early on that she had a talent for breaking down complex subject matter for others to understand and a passion for the rewards of watching others learn. Upon entering college, she tested out of freshman-level math and earned a BS in Biology Education from the University of New Orleans in 1997. Heather's math and science background ultimately proved invaluable to her future success in business operations and understanding the fundamental and technical elements needed to manage commodity futures positions.
Following an internal pull toward business and operations, she transitioned from instruction into administration and management within the same college system, meanwhile, she earned an M.Ed.in Higher Education from the University of New Orleans in 2002. From 2002 until 2022 Heather remained in management and leadership roles within the two organizations for which she worked. Each role came with progressively more responsibility, culminating in her role as Chief Operations Officer.
Advisor Trading Experience
2016 Heather began reading everything she could find to learn more about investing. Like many others, Heather felt that getting accurate and unbiased information was an elusive task and eventually set a goal to become part of the financial services industry. By 2018, Heather had discovered the potential and developed a deep understanding of options, futures, and speculative trading. Her science, math, and business experience all played a part in helping to develop and refine her trading and risk management strategies. She was drawn to commodity trading due to its more direct relationship to supply and demand than its stock market counterpart. Having been raised in and worked in a location with strong economic ties to the oil and gas industry, Heather witnessed multiple examples of the relationship between crude oil fundamentals and prices over the years. Wanting to have a singular focus and striving to excel in that area versus managing multiple strategies and risking mediocrity, Heather's trading strategy is narrowly focused on crude oil futures options. She incorporates her knowledge, patience, experience, and analytical skills to select and enter crude oil contracts with a high probability of success. She uses her consistency to manage the risk associated with volatility.
After trading and refining the trading strategy in her personal account for multiple years, Heather became a full-time trader in August 2022. She quickly realized she should work toward qualifying as an Advisor to blend her new occupation with her desire to educate others. In May 2023, Heather founded Alleman Capital Management LLC, and for the remainder of the year, she continued to develop the trading strategy for the Alleman Capital Crude Hedge Program. In February 2024, Alleman Capital Management LLC registered with CFTC and became a member of NFA as a commodity trading advisor with Heather as its Principal.
